Image disks are encrypted
Data that is written to disks is encrypted by default with AES-256. This encryption does not prevent you or people you share the image with to see the image in their browser or on their phone. It does prevent the case where the physical hardware disk drive is stolen, the thief is unable to determine what is on the disk.
Who has access?
Our infrastructure cloud provider does not have access to your images. However in rare situations, and with explicit approval from Img.vision, our cloud provider may access files to comply with a law or a governmental body. Such access is logged and documented. If this happens, you, as a customer of Img.vision, will be informed.
All employees and third party contractors working directly for Img.vision have access to your files. We will not access, use or copy your files except for normal usage related to maintaining, improving and operating our service. Our users are in control whether they share their images. We never share images of our users, unless if a law or a govermental body requires we share your files. We will inform you if this happens.
Images that are “online” and not “offline” are publicly available on the internet. Anyone who knows the public link, can access it. See also our article about sharing images.
Image backups
We also have infra-level automatic backups of all images.
