I’ve released a bunch of improvements and fixes last week:
Stability improvements for bulk actions
The stability of bulk actions has been greatly improved with one important bug fixed:
During bulk actions your browser was receiving a lot of updates from the server. This meant your browser was very likely to freeze temporarily. We made this logic smarter so it no longer overwhelms your browser. This improvement applies to bulk actions Restore, Archive, Delete and to uploading a lot of images in bulk.
We fixed issues with bulk Restore and bulk Archive actions:
- When doing such bulk actions quickly one after another, the server could get confused; the last bulk action was only processed partially. This has been fixed.
- In the past the action responded/started very slowly (eg. 30-40 seconds before you saw the initiated notification). This slowness has been pinpointed and fixed.
We improved the UI of bulk actions Restore, Archive and Delete:
- A blue info notification is now shown when a bulk action has been successfully initiated.
- It stays present until the green success notification appears, you can browse around and do other actions in your drive in the meantime.
- The green success notification is shown when the bulk action has completed. This notification also shows the number of images successfully processed.
Team flow improvements
I added missing functionality: Managers can now access video functionality if the drive owner has a video subscription. For image subscriptions this functionality was always present, but now it’s present for both type of subscriptions.
The team page has been improved:
- The owner of a drive can now see if an invitation has expired, and can with a single button click to generate a new invitation and resend it.
- The team page intro and statuses have been improved to make it more clear how the team invitation flow works, and what the statuses mean.
The flow to register as a manager has been made less confusing for the manager on several levels:
- A message now explains what’s wrong, and gives recommended actions to take when an invited manager opens an invalid invitation link, or an expired invitation link.
- Manager invitations now expire after 7d instead of after 24hrs. Especially in larger organizations a 24 hour period was too short.
Bugfix: Readding a manager you removed is now possible.
Archived images counter
Your settings page now shows a counter for archived images. We recently updated our pricing model so all customers get 10x archived images based on their image plan size.
Archived images are stored in your drive, but are not publicly online anymore. When you need them again, you can restore them, and they will have their original public link.
This is interesting if you, for example, have products that depends on the season; you don’t need to delete and reupload them.
Roadmap integration
The security of the roadmap integration has been improved. In addition, managers can now also join the public roadmap to vote for features and comment.
