The Img.vision marketing site has been rebuilt from scratch to make it future proof, eaiser to navigate and faster to load.
We run the marketing site on WordPress. For those who know WordPress, I can tell you that we switched from a classic theme to the new block theme technology.
This means we have access to more site design options and are future proof.
Together with migrating to a block theme, we’ve updated all pages and posts to no longer rely on a plugin for editor blocks, we now use the standard Gutenberg editor blocks of WordPress. This means less stylesheets and code need to be loaded on each page load, making the site faster to load. The biggest downside of these two things is that major parts of the site needed be rebuilt, which took quite a lot of effort.
We’ve also changed the url structure of major parts of the site, merging duplicate pages, making urls shorter and more readable. For SEO purposes we’ve setup the necessary redirects so Google doesn’t get lost navigating the new site 😀.
Part of the restructering is that the Handbook now contains all major topics under /handbook/. It contains all marketplace image handbooks and also the image hosts handbook now.
We also now have this new dedicated News section and are deprecating the feedback site changelog. The changelog was hard to find, buried away next to the roadmap and not many people knew about it. Now our news lives on /news/, simple and easy to remember.
