Over the past weeks, we partnered closely with sellers to investigate a frustrating issue: images uploaded through marketplace flat files were sometimes rejected without any clear explanation.
After deep analysis, we uncovered the root cause: automatic WebP conversion on our side was interfering with how certain marketplaces ingest images. Even though browsers love WebP, many marketplaces don’t, and silently fail when an image isn’t in the format they expect.
👉 We’ve now fully disabled all automatic WebP conversion.
Your images will always be delivered in their original format, ensuring predictable ingestion and eliminating these mystery failures.

1️⃣ Zero Rate Limiting for Marketplace Crawlers
Marketplaces fetch images in large batches from flat-file uploads, traffic patterns that overwhelm standard CDNs and trigger firewall blocks.
We never rate-limit marketplace ingestion traffic, resulting in fewer image rejections and far smoother catalog updates.
2️⃣ No WebP Conversion (New!)
We always deliver images in their original format.
Many CDNs auto-convert to WebP, but marketplaces often can’t ingest those files, leading to unexpected failures or broken images.
Turning this off ensures clean, reliable ingestion every time.
3️⃣ Metadata-Safe Delivery
Some marketplaces reject images containing hidden EXIF metadata: camera settings, lens serial numbers, GPS info, etc.
We use lossless compression to strip unnecessary metadata while preserving full image quality, giving marketplaces cleaner, lighter files they ingest without issues.
4️⃣ Smart Lossy Compression
For JPGs, we apply visual-safe lossy compression to reduce file sizes without sacrificing quality.
